Nur Misuari' also known as Nurallaj Misuari founded the Mindanao Independence Movement which later became the anti-governement paramilitary group , Moro National Liberation Front(MNLF) which he led until a peace agreement was reached to establish the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. He became the governor this region then returned to fighting against the government with the MNLF. He is currently in jail on charges of rebellion as of the year 2006.
