North Ferriby is a village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, on the North bank of the River Humber, approximately 8 miles to the West of Hull city centre. South Ferriby is directly opposite the village, on the South bank of the Humber. North Ferriby is generally referred to as plain Ferriby by locals on the north bank, except where confusion might arise. The parish had a population of 3,819 according to the 2001 census. Ferriby is quite a big village; it's school has approx. 300 pupils. There is a pub called the Duke of Cumberland and also a popular Italian restaurant called Medici. North Ferriby's main shop is a Co-operative Group convenience store.

In 1937, wooden planks belonging to an ancient boat were discovered by a local man on the shore of the Humber. Originally estimated to date from 1300 BC, newer estimates using radiocarbon dating have placed the boats between the years 1890 BC to 1700 BC, in the Bronze Age. The Ferriby boats are the earliest known boats found in Europe, the only other boats from a similar period found in Britain, are the ones found at Dover. Details on the boats can be found on an information board on Ferriby foreshore, on a public footpath that forms part of the Trans Pennine Trail. The path goes from Ferriby to Hessle alongside the River Humber, and gives probably the best views of the Humber Bridge.

In addition to the Bronze Age boats, Bronze Age round barrows were found near North Ferriby by archaeologists excavating the land on which the A63 junction was built. There was also evidence of Iron Age and early Romano-British activity in that area.

The local football club, North Ferriby United A.F.C., plays in the Northern Premier League. Ferriby railway station serves the village.
