Norm the Genie is an evil genie and is a fictional character in the Nickelodeon animated series The Fairly OddParents. He was voiced by Norm MacDonald.

Genie Meanie Miney Mo

Norm was first introduced to Timmy Turner and his fairy godparents Cosmo and Wanda in this episode. In this episode, he grants Timmy's three rule-free wishes, outsmarting him (When Timmy wished for a breakfast meal, it wasn't on a plate; When Timmy wished for Trixie to love him, she loved every single Timmy Turner in the world; When Timmy whishes that his dad has a billion dollars, his dad was chased by the cops who thinks that he is counterfeiting). As the lamp starts to suck Norm back in, he throws it to Cosmo and Wanda, and they get trapped in the lamp.

Timmy then uses a Smoof vacuum cleaner and sucks him into it. Norm can't escape it because it is one of the three things he can't escape from (Smoof, magic lamps, and the charms of Barbara Eden (an in-joke reference to I Dream of Jeannie)). After "persuading" Norm to give him three more wishes with nails and bees, Norm eventually grants his wish: Everything back to normal. So Norm gets sucked back into the lamp. Crocker is at the garage sale the lamp is in, and he sends it to his uncle (who is oddly obsessed with genies, like Crocker is to fairies).

Even though he believes in genies, his uncle can't open it because he's in a straightjacket because the public dubbed him crazy.

Back to the Norm

Norm was freed from the lamp by Crocker, and the two work together for revenge on Timmy. Eventually, Norm quits working with Crocker and sends him to Mars (which was his suggestion for Crocker to send Timmy to). Norm and Timmy seemingly make an alliance. Like Wile E. Coyote, Crocker's fairy catching inventions keep backfiring on him; Crocker keeps asking for more and more wishes from Norm.

Fairy Idol

In this episode, Norm MacDonald was unable to reprise his role as Norm the Genie. Instead, he was voiced by Robert Cait. Fairy Idol is Norm's last appearance. He is now the servant of the Mayor of Dimmsdale. During the second wish taking place, he reads a book that Cosmo gave him, Da Rules. In it, he finds that if a fairy godparent quits, the position is open to any magical creature.

After becoming genie of Chester, and tricking him, he tricks Timmy into spending time with Chester. The clone of Timmy that replaces Timmy in school eventually makes Cosmo and Wanda quit, and Norm laughs as his plan works.

Jorgen von Strangle arrives, but zaps the clone's memory, not Timmy's (who is hiding in the closet).

In the finals of Fairy Idol, Norm plays the song Give me the Wand, which Cosmo actually interrupts, and they both sing at the same time. Cosmo and Wanda win, but Norm distracts Jorgen and Cosmo and Wanda get in an accident.

Norm becomes godparent of Chester, and Chester eventually wishes Timmy was Norm's godchild. But Timmy refuses to grant wishes and after two weeks, he suffers from magical buildup. He is forced to grant Timmy's wish, which is Cosmo and Wanda back to being his godparent. But then Norm quits before he grants the wish. Jorgen comes and rips out Norms wings. Then he wipes Timmy's memory.

Then Chester appears and he still has one last genie wish. He wishes everything was back to normal. Norm is wished back into the lamp, and that's the last we see of Norm. The Fairly OddParents characters
