Founded in the 13th century, the Nikolaiviertel (German for "Nicholas Quarter") is the reconstructed historical heart of the German capital, Berlin. It is located 5 minutes away from Alexanderplatz. The Nikolai Church lies at the center of the district.

The small area is famous for its traditional German restaurants and bars. Between 1997 and 1999 all the houses were refurbished, giving the area an unmistakable appearance.
