Nicholas "Nasty Nick" Bateman (born 5 November 1967 in London, England) is a British television personality who found fame as a contestant on the first series of the British version of Big Brother. He was asked to leave the show after being caught trying to influence fellow housemates' votes in the weekly eviction process. Such was the media interest in this first series of the show, the news that Nick had been thrown out featured on the front page of every national newspaper in the UK, apart from the Financial Times.
For a time after his departure from the show, Nick was one of the most in-demand celebrities in the country, enjoying considerable media exposure and attending many showbusiness parties and premieres. He went on to present his own short-lived television series Trust Me, wrote a book entitled Nasty Nick: How to be a Right Bastard (ISBN 1903402263), and appeared on the reality television series Back to Reality and in the Big Brother pantomime.
In 2005 he appeared on the chatshow Heads Up with Richard Herring to discuss his life, career and his love of poker.
