The National Weight Control Registry is a United States register of people (18 years or older) who have lost at least 14 kg (30 lb) of weight and kept it off for at least one year.

It was formed in 1993 by James Hill, University of Colorado and Rena Wing, Brown University. The registry surveys members to see what methods are successful in weight loss. Currently there are over 5,000 members. The average user has lost 32 kg (71 lb) and kept it off for at least 6 years.

Members lost weight by a wide variety of methods, but most included reducing food intake and increasing exercise. After losing weight, almost all of the registry members ate breakfast and weighed themselves regularly, usually once a day.
