National Instruments is a producer of Virtual instrumentation software. Virtual instrumentation software produced by the company includes the NI LabVIEW graphical development environment, the NI LabWindows/CVI development environment (ANSI/ISO C), and modular hardware, such as PXI modules for data acquisition, instrument control and machine vision.
Electronics Workbench Inc., a subsidiary of National Instruments, produces MultiSIM, an electrical circuit analysis program. The program was once titled as Electronics Workbench.
Founded in 1976 by Dr. James Truchard, Bill Nowlin and Jeff Kodosky and headquartered in Austin, Texas, National Instruments has over 3,400 employees and direct operations in 41 countries. In 2003, the company sold products to more than 25,000 companies in 90 countries with revenues of $426 million.
