Nā Mokulua are two islets off the windward coast of O‘ahu in the Hawaiian Islands. The islets are located a short distance off Lanikai, a neighborhood of Kailua, Hawai‘i and are often photographed. Moku lua means "two islands" in Hawaiian; is a definite article that pluralizes a noun; thus, literally, "the islands two". Commonly also known as "the twin Islands," the larger is Moku Nui and the smaller, Moku Iki. They are State bird sanctuaries and access is prohibited by law, although enforcement is lax.
