In 1912, Annie Besant, Marie Russak and James Wedgwood founded the Order of the Temple of the Rosicrucian. However, due to the numerous problems orginating in England during the First World War, the activity was be suspended.

Besant returned to her tasks as World President of the Theosophical Society, Wedgwood continued working as bishop of the Liberal Catholic Church; and Russak, contacted in California a Harvey Spencer Lewis, to which helped in the elaboration of the rituals of the Order Rosicrucian AMORC.

At the end of the 20th century, in Latin America the interest was revived in the orders of initiations, mainly those related with the spiritual traditions of West. In those days, a member of the Society Teosofic, well-known as in the circles rosicrucian like Frater Initiator, began to work for the re-foundation of the OTRC.

At the moment, they work in several countries for the rebirth of the Order of the Temple of the Rosy Cross (OTRC) with the new name of Mystical Order of the Temple of the Rosy Cross (MOTRC). The official creation is planned for the year 2012, when are completed 100 years from the original foundation.

Principles of the organization


Slogan: Lux Veritatis Work: Based in the maxim of the alchemists Ora et Labora, the OMTRC establishes two types of meetings: Oratory (or Grupo of study", where diverse topics related to the Occult Tradition are investigated) and Laboratory (or Convocation'', where they realize rituals and diverse practical spiritual).

Grades: The Order possesses three grades of initiation: Neophyte, Pilgrim and Master. Nevertheless, the same as the authors of the Theosophy, it is insisted in the difference between the ritual initiation and the true one Initiation, reason why this outline of grades is symbolic and it does not have any relation with spirtual progress of each member.

The Order has several postulates or bases in which sustains its work:

  • Belief in an Absolute Being.
  • Integral develop of the human being.
  • The foment of the fraternal love.
  • Absolute free of charge of the teachings.

Objectives of the OMTRC


  • Diffusion of the spiritual teachings.
  • Foment of the study of the Western Esoteric Tradition and the compared religions.
  • Conscious service.
  • Spiritual work progressive and continuous.
  • Comparative investigation of the different branches of the Tradition Rosicrucian.
  • Foment of the creation of a Federation Fraternal Rosicrucian, relating friendly to all the groups rosicrucian that recognize to Christ as ideal.
