A monthly poetry magazine Myōjō was published in Japan during the turn of the 20th century. Famous contributors include Akiko Yosano and Tekkan Yosano, the former responsible for a wealth of original works in the form of the 31-syllable Tanka poetry, and the latter acting as the editor-in-chief of the publication.
