My Pet Monster was a plush doll sold in the 1980s and early 1990s that was one of the few plush dolls marketed at boys at the time. The doll had blue fur, horns, and a fanged smile, and was recognizable by its orange handcuffs. It spawned a short-lived children's cartoon series that ran for one season (1986 – 1987) on ABC, produced by Ellipse (France), Nelvana (Canada), and Hi Tops Video in association with Golden Books. It also spawned a film made in the 80's about a boy who becomes the Pet Monster, how a man tries to kidnap him to experiment and how his sister helps her brother out of this crisis.
