The Brussels-Capital Region is divided into 19 municipalities:

Seven municipalities have only one official name used in Dutch and French although the name is Dutch. The other twelve officially have both a French and a Dutch name; these are listed here with the French name followed by the Dutch name on the right, with additionally the English name for the City of Brussels. Their postal codes are cited in brackets.

  1. Anderlecht (1070)
  2. Ville de Bruxelles - Stad Brussel   (City of Brussels) (1000, 1020, 1120, 1130, 1040, 1050)
  3. Ixelles - Elsene (1050)
  4. Etterbeek (1040)
  5. Evere (1140)
  6. Ganshoren (1083)

This list is sometimes referred to as the list of the 19 municipalities of the agglomeration of Brussels, although the actual urban agglomeration around Brussels, as far as demographics is concerned, extends further than these 19 municipalities.
