Mound Road is a 27 mile (45 km) long principal arterial road in the Metro Detroit area. Its southern terminus is near the Forest Lawn Cemetery in the city of Detroit, and its northern terminus is at 32 Mile Road near Romeo. Mound Road near River Bend Park on the Clinton River in Rochester Hills, Michigan is cut off for 1 mile (1.6 km).
In the 1960s, plans to make Mound Road a full freeway and a part of Michigan State Highway 53 were halted due to local, residential and business opposition. The Interstate 696 and Mound Road interchange is marked by a stack junction.
The Penn Central rail road runs adjacent to the road.
