Morphological freedom is, according to neuroscientist Anders Sandberg, "an extension of one’s right to one’s body, not just self-ownership but also the right to modify oneself according to one’s desires." In general terms, it is the legal ability to manipulate ones own body as one sees fit, usually by the introduction of implants for therapeutic or enhancement purposes.
