Montaque N. ("Monty") Brown is an American professional wrestler and former American football linebacker. Brown is currently working for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling under the ring name "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown.
Brown joined Planet Jarrett, Jarrett's retinue, and spent several months feuding with Jarrett's enemies, Kevin Nash, Sean Waltman, Diamond Dallas Page and A.J. Styles. At TNA Slammiversary on June 19, he took part in a six way King of the Mountain match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, then held by Styles, which was won by Raven. Brown then began teaming with fellow Planet Jarrett member Kip James, helping him battle the 3Live Kru in an attempt to convince Kru member B.G. James to reform his former tag team, the New Age Outlaws, with Kip. Brown and James faced Kru members Ron Killings and Konnan at TNA Sacrifice 2005 on August 14 in a match in which B.G. acted as special guest referee, with both Kip and the remained of the Kru urging him to take their side. B.G. eventually took the side of Konnan and Killings, costing Brown and James the match. Following the defeat, Brown insisted that he be the one to lead the team. On August 26 he turned his back on Jeff Jarrett, claiming that their agreement was broken.
At TNA Unbreakable on September 11, Brown declared his intention to challenge for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship at TNA Bound For Glory. After defeating Lance Hoyt at Bound For Glory on October 23, Brown took part in a ten-man over-the-top-rope gauntlet match for the number one contendership to the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, but was eliminated by Jeff Hardy. Brown defeated Jeff Hardy at TNA Genesis on November 13 for the number one contendership to the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. However, following an altercation with Christian Cage, Brown agreed to defend his number one contendership against Cage at TNA Turning Point 2005 on December 11, with Rhino receiving a title shot in his stead. At Turning Point, Cage defeated Brown. On the December 17 episode of iMPACT!, Brown renewed his alliance with Jarrett, with both men bitter towards "TNA management".
On the January 7, 2006 episode of iMPACT!, Jarrett and Brown enacted a skit mocking Sting, who had recently signed with TNA and was set to tag with Christian Cage against Brown and Jarrett at Final Resolution. The Alpha Male posed as the Sting of 2006, complete with make-up and baby stroller. However, the fans did not react well to the skit at the taping. It was said to be heavily edited so that one could hear the dialogue through the heckles of the fans. Sting and Cage defeated Brown and Jarrett at Final Resolution when Sting pinned Jarrett after a Scorpion Death Drop. Monty Brown received a World Heavyweight Title shot against Christian Cage at TNA Destination X 2006 but was unsuccessful in his bid to become champion. Following Destination X, Brown underwent surgery on his knee, which had previously blown out, on March 17, 2006. He returned to in-ring competition on April 29, 2006 in Germany, and to TNA television on the May 18, 2006 episode of iMPACT!, where he demanded to be included in the King of the Mountain match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship at TNA Slammiversary 2006 on June 18, 2006. However, Brown lost the qualifying match to Ron "The Truth" Killings on the May 25, 2006 episode of iMPACT!.
During the pre-show of TNA Slammiversary 2006, Brown declared that he would start a winning streak, similar to the streak Samoa Joe has right now. On the June 22nd edition of iMPACT!, Brown started his streak by defeating Chasyn Rance in a squash match.
