Mitch Bouyer was a scout present at the Battle of Little Bighorn serving under George Armstrong Custer. His warning about the danger of the Native American camp being too large to engage was largely ignored by Custer, which proved to be his downfall. Mitch Bouyer's exact words to Custer were "If we go in there we will never come out". Custer's reply ("The largest Indian camp on the North American continent is ahead and I am going to attack it") clearly showed a disregard to Buoyer's warning. As a result Custer's entire force including Mitch Bouyer himself was eradicated except for one survivor Curley a Crow scout who disguised himself as a Sioux warrior. Therefore Mitch Bouyer died on the 25th June 1876 fighting against a force of over 2000 Native Americans.
