Mike Wengren is a drummer from Chicago, Illinois, best known for his work with hard rock/heavy metal band Disturbed. He is one of the founding members of the band, which was formed in 1996.

Born and raised in Chicago, Mike has been playing drums since around the age of 10, when he took some lessons for about a month but didn’t begin to take his drumming seriously until the age of 15.

While not displaying the extreme speeds or technicality that some other metal drummers frequently put into their music, Mike plays to establish a solid groove for the music. However he does maintain heavy double bass drum work on almost all of Disturbed's songs, but his playing is more of a technique that syncopates with the music, instead of the 'flooring' style that is popular with many other bands.

He has been quoted as saying that Tommy Lee (of Mötley Crüe), Metallica, Slayer, Vinnie Paul (of Pantera), Racer X, and Testament were his strongest influences when he began drumming.

In recent years, he has appeared in ads for Pearl Drums, the brand of drums he has been using since he first started playing drums.

His latest kit is a red Pearl MRX Masters Series with black hardware.
