Mike "Mad Genius" Caro (born May 16, 1944) is a professional poker player and author of poker books.
Caro is the author of a number of books about poker, including:
Additionally, he has a number of videos, some of which correspond to the books he has written. He was formerly editor in chief of Poker Player magazine and senior editor of Gambling Times magazine.
In 1984 at the World Series of Poker he demonstrated Orac (Caro backwards), a poker-playing computer program that he had written. Orac performed credibly in a series of challenges against leading players.
Aside from his writing and executive work with casinos, Caro is a world class poker player. He is regarded by many top poker players as one of the best draw poker players in the world. Caro developed much of his poker theory in conversations with John Fox and Art Sathmary.
