Megacon, short for Mega Convention, is a large convention that caters to the anime, sci-fi, comic, and fantasy community, occurring between late February and early March at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. Collectors and fans of all ages and genres can convene to discuss, buy, and sell various merchandise of their favorite TV shows, movies, and entertainment. These can include, but are not limited to; Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, comic books and all venues of anime. Events include annual cosplay/costume contest, hall costume contest, rpg gaming, panels, and dances. In the past, anime activities have been primarily coordinated by Anime Sushi/Cyberia. Also at the convention are various famous names in the genre, with everyone from The Hulk to Chewbacca (Star Wars) to Captain Spaulding (House of 1000 Corpses) appearing to sign autographs and chat with fans. As with many conventions, attendies can volunteer through the website to work 12 hours during the convention to pay for their ticket.

Since 2001, MegaCon has also been the location of the long running "Paranoia LIVE!" Live-Action Roleplaying Game, based off Mongoose Publishings Paranoia.
