• "MAsc" degrees are generally conferred in British Commonwealth nations for engineering-related studies more abbreviated than those required for the Master of Engineering (MEng).

• "MAppSc" and "MApplSc" degrees are conferred in Australia and New Zealand for a wider variety of professional studies, to include practitioner fields outside of engineering.

• "MAS" is conferred in at least two US universities (University of Delaware and University of Denver) in the more expansive manner similar to Australia and New Zealand.
