IGN recently revealed that they have an official agreement with Activision to disclose several of the 100+ NPCs in the game. The first set of revealed characters can be seen here. Nightcrawler was confirmed as an NPC by an email sent to fans who had signed up for updates on the official site and Jean and Namor were both confirmed in a similar way.
Voice Actors
- Quinton Flynn - Spider-Man (Confirmed by Flynn in publicity for another project)
- Steve Blum - Wolverine (Blum is set to reprise his role from the previous two X-Men Legends games.)
The voices of Jean Grey and Bruce Banner will be determined by an online open audition, running on the official website from 26th May 2006 until mid-July. Update: It seems they have found a voice for Bruce, so now they are looking for a voice for Namor and Jean Grey. *. It is unknown why Jean is not being voiced by Leigh Allen Baker, who provided her voice in the X-Men: Legends games.
Versions
As of this writing, the game is due to be released for 6th and 7th generation consoles, although the graphical engine and looks will differ. For the 6th gen consoles, characters models will be similar to X-Men Legends: cell shaded and almost cartoonish. The 7th generation versions will feature next generation gaming, with full 3D models and amazingly realistic characters and environments.
The PSP version will include graphics reduction, different characters, and extra features:
- 4 exclusive playable Marvel characters.
- 6 special comic book missions
- Microphone support (voice chat), via which players can speak with other players online
- "16x9"inch widescreen ratio aspect
- Player Statistics
- Enhanced G.U.I
- EXCLUSIVE prequel missions
- PSP™-Enabled Community Website that include player stats
- User Interface Enhancements to take advantage of the PSP™ design
Marvel :Ultimate Alliance's graphics will be reduced to a much lower graphics quality for the GBA version.
- Just like the other version, players can switch between any character during the game. Players can also create their own team involving only 3 characters.
- The same exact gameplay as in other versions; players can do major upgradings on characters and tactics, as well as build their reputation points.
- Exclusive to the GBA version: players can call in a striker, which performs devasting attacks on-screen enemies.
- Interactive enivorments; players can take advantages and use this to track their enemies.
- Some additional gameplay modes added including: Shield Simulator, Time Challenges, Scavenger Hunts, and a Survival mode.
Locations
From the early screenshots and preview provided through out the early stages and works, certain locations are already confirmed:
Notes
- Judging by the appearances of The Thing, Thor, and Captain America, the characters will follow the trend started by the X-Men Legends games, and feature the characters largely in their costumes from the Ultimate line of comics. However, it should be noted that villains like Doctor Doom, Scorpion or Galactus appear in their classic form, whilst Nick Fury will also appear in his classic form, though he previously appeared in X-Men Legends II as his Ultimate version. It has also been noted that characters will have altered stats depending on their different skins. Example: Wolverine may have a higher speed rating in his Patch uniform than he has in his Classic blue and yellow Costume.
