Martin Sargent (born August 18, 1975) is a former American television personality. He studied history and English at University of London, Cornell University and Syracuse University.
Sargent began on ZDTV (later known as TechTV) in 1998, as a personality on the TV show Call For Help, appearing as an infrequent co-host alongside main host Leo Laporte, and also as the show's "Resident Craft Professional". He left Call For Help in 2001 for another TechTV show, The Screen Savers, where he became known as "The Twisted Lister", for producing and presenting odd, "twisted" top-five lists on the show. He also produced and presented a second segment on the show, entitled Site of the Night in which he presented strange websites. Through his segment he introduced many Westerners to the Indian pop music sensation Daler Mehndi through a RealMedia file of the music video of his song Tunak Tunak Tun. In April 2003, Sargent left The Screen Savers and was given his own show, Unscrewed as part of a new late-night programming block for TechTV. In May 2004, TechTV was purchased by G4TV and Sargent and his show were forced to move from TechTV's homebase of San Francisco to G4's homebase of Los Angeles. Six months later, on November 11, 2004, G4 cancelled Unscrewed and terminated Sargent.
Exactly one year later on November 11, 2005, Sargent launched a bi-weekly podcast called Infected, distributed by Kevin Rose's Revision3 Corporation production company.
