Manuel Sanchís Hontiyuelo (born May 23, 1965 in Madrid) is a former Spanish football player. Sanchis was the only defender in the famous Quinta del Buitre and the only one of its members to play his entire career for Real Madrid and win the European Cup.
From his debut in 1983 until his retirement in 2001, Sanchís played 524 league matches for Real Madrid. He won the UEFA Champions League twice (1998 and 2000) and the Spanish league eight times (1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1995, 1997 and 2001). Other trophies he won include two UEFA Cups (1985 and 1986), one Intercontinental Cup (1998) and two Spanish Cups (1989 and 1993). He played 48 matches for the Spanish national team, including and the 1990 FIFA World Cup.
His father, Manuel Sanchís Martínez, also played for Real Madrid (1964 to 1971).
