The Manhattan Life Insurance Building was one of the oldest skyscrapers. The building, which rose to 348 ft (106.1 m), was finished in 1894 and had a small expansion in 1904. It was the world's first building to pass the 100 m mark, a feat which was followed in the following year by Milwaukee City Hall. Located in Manhattan in New York City, the building was demolished in 1930 to make way for the Irving Trust Bank Headquarters Building.
