Mangaka (漫画家) is the Japanese word for a comic artist. Outside of Japan, manga usually refers to a Japanese comic book and mangaka usually refers to an author of manga, usually Japanese. The -ka suffix means "expert".

Romanized names are written in Western order (given names before family names), whereas kanji names are written in Japanese order (family names before given names). Many of them are pen-names.
