Magmatron is a Transformers character who first appeared in the Japanese Beast Wars Neo series, and was later released in the Beast Machines Dinobots line. His body is made up of 3 smaller robots who take the form of a Giganotosaurus, Elasmosaurus and a Quetzalcoatlus. They can combine into a humanoid robot form, or that of a giant Fuzor with attributes of all three beasts. He only has one personality, and seems to be somehow related to the Generation One Duocons, only with 3 split forms instead of 2.

His Takara release as a Predacon his function was Emperor of Destruction. Magmatron's beast mode is comprised of three dinosaurs. An all around warrior more wildly evil than even Galvatron. On the one hand, he is violently enthusiastic, while on the other he can judge situations quite reasonably. He is also charismatic, enough so that the other Destrons acknowledge his superiority.

In his Hasbro release as a Beast Machines Dinobot his function is Warrior. His motto is "Til all is won." Following an interplanetary quest for energy capsules, Magmatron returned to Cybertron to find an alarmingly growing population of Vehicon drones. Revered by his followers and reviled by his enemies, Magmatron is known by all as an "emperor of destruction." His determination to succeed is unshakable and he accepts nothing less than total victory. Mitotic spark allows for separation into three aggressive dinosaur modes: Landsaur, Seasaur, Skysaur then recombines into an unstoppable tri-dinosaur Fuzor.

Beast Wars Neo

The brutal leader of the Destrons, he is after the Angolmois Capules aboard his battleship Dinosaur. A cool-headed figure in battle, his men idolize his militant cunning. Wielding the Magmablade sword, his attacks include Magma-Missile, Wing-Missile, & Magma-attack(Seasaurus biting his enemy). In his splintered form, Landsaurus fires a Gigamissile for its mouth, Sonic Boom from Skysaurus, & Hyperstrangle from Seasaurus. In the manga, Magmatron was "born" when three dinosaurs were fused/transformed upon exposure to a Angolmois Capsule.

In this series his motto is "Power is everything. I am power. Therefore, I am everything." Selected by the Tripredacus Council to replace the fallen Galvatron, Magmatron is as driven a leader and an even more powerful warrior. While successor to Galvatron, he has very little in common with the previous Emperor of Destruction. While Galvatron was a conquest driven maniac, Magmatron judges situations very reasonably and can probably be called the most merciful Emperor of Destruction in all of Cybertrons history. However, this should not be judged as weakness. He is a brilliant Predacon and a very charismatic one at that. Magmatron’s personality keeps his warriors on his side through the toughest of times with little to no resistance. He has a deep-seeded rivalry with the Maximal Supreme Commander Big Convoy that goes back to their soldier days. However, it is a rivalry with mutual respect. He knows Big Convoy’s power and thinks of him as a worthy adversary. Magmatron is by far the sanest member of the Predacon force. In beast mode Magmatron splits into three separate and terrifying dinosaur creatures. These prehistoric creatures are the Skysaurus (a Queztalcoatlus), the Landsaurus (a Gigantosaurus) and the Seasaurus (an Elasmosaurus). Each can attack from separate directions with individual conscious minds. He can then combine to form a bizarre and powerful dinosaur which towers over enemies. In robot mode he wields a mighty sword sharp enough to dice any metal to pieces on contact. Magmatron is decked out with row upon row of missile and grenade launchers that obliterate whatever receives its might. Magmatron is an incredibly powerful robot with a slight level of compassion. However, he lacks a suitably strong offensive attack like his predecessors. If attacked from a distance he can be taken down, but only with an absurdly powerful weapon.

Beast Wars (Comics)

During early season 3 of the Beast Wars series the Predacon Magmatron and his troops arrived on Earth on a mission following up Ravage. Magmatron had his own agenda to convert many of the unused protoforms in stasis pods into Predacon soldiers under his command, but the Maximal under cover agent Razorbeast sabotaged him, resulting in many of the protoforms emerging as Maximals. Magmatron also recovered the remains of Ravage and used a blank protoform to bring him back as a transmetal 2. Being displaced slightly chronogically Magmatron and Razorbeast's troops battled without the others noticing. At one point Megatron was captured by Magmatron to be sent back to Cybertron. Due to the intervention of Razorbeast, Optimus Minor and Grimlock, Magmatron was sent back to Cybertron instead. Razorbeast left the unconscious Megatron on Earth, fearing altering the time stream if he captured him.
