Maggie Wheeler (born August 7 1961 in New York City as Maggie Jakobson) is an American actress.

She auditioned for the role of Monica Geller on the American series Friends, but ended up playing Janice, whose voice is very similar to that of Fran Drescher's.

She also auditioned for the role of Debra Barone in the American sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond". Although she was the producers' choice, CBS wanted a less-ethnic type. She did however end up playing the recurring role of Debra's friend, Linda.

In real life she was a girlfriend of David Duchovny long before he married Tea Leoni.

She also appeared on the hit comedy Seinfeld and had a star billing on the first series of Ellen.

In 2005, Maggie starred opposite David DeLuise on the NBC pilot "The Sperm Donor".

Maggie also provided the voice of Odile in Barbie's Swan Lake.

Maggie has been in many other short-term T.V. roles, including a short appearance in children's T.V. program Drake & Josh.
