The mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling cascade is involved in the action of most nonnuclear oncogenes. It is responsible for cell response to growth factors such as BDFN or nerve growth factor. It is conserved throughout evolution indicating its important and universal role that is yet to be fully understood.
