Luxottica (, ) is a major producer and retailer of eyewear, headquartered in Milan, Italy.
Luxottica is a vertically integrated company, producing at the wholesale level with both house and licensed brands, among them are Ray Ban, Arnette, Brooks Brothers, Bulgari, Burberry, Chanel, Ferragamo, Killer Loop, Moschino, Prada, Versus, Vogue, Dolce and Gabbana, DKNY, and Versace, respectively. Luxottica is also active at the retail level; the company acquired LensCrafters (in 1995), Sunglass Hut International (in 2001), OPSM (in 2003) and Cole National (in 2004).
Luxottica Retail, a wholly-owned subsidiary, is headquartered in Mason, Ohio.
The founder of Luxottica is Leonardo del Vecchio, and is, according to Forbes, the second richest man in Italy, after Silvio Berlusconi, with a net worth of $5.6 billion.
