Lunar Strain is the first album released by Swedish death metal band In Flames in 1994. In 1999, it was re-released in Japan, including all the tracks of the Subterranean album, under the title Lunar Strain & Subterranean. In this release, vocals were sung by Dark Tranquillity vocalist, Mikael Stanne, who was a session musician in the band at the time.

The album was re-released, remastered with bonus tracks, in 2005 under Regain Records and Candlelight USA.
