Lowell Bergman (born July 24, 1945) was a television producer for the CBS news magazine 60 Minutes and is best known for investigating the tobacco industry, and specifically utilizing scientist Jeffrey Wigand of Brown & Williamson as a source. He was portrayed in the movie The Insider by Al Pacino. Bergman is currently (2004) a producer for the PBS public affairs television program Frontline. In his earlier days, he was a contributor to Ramparts, a liberal magazine.
