London Tipton is a fictional character in the comedy television show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Because of her name and the fact that she is the daughter of a successful, worldwide hotel chain owner, it can be said that "London Tipton" is a G-rated spoof of real-life hotel heiress personality Paris Hilton. Her first name is London, a spoof on the name Paris because both names are actually capital cities of European countries; while Tipton sounds relatively similar to Hilton. London even has a catchphrase: (untold if copyrighted or not) "Yay me!". She is portrayed by actress Brenda Song.
London Tipton is a rich, pampered teenage girl heiress, daughter of Wilfred Tipton, who is used to some of the best treatments and foods available to a girl of her economic status. Her Dad, divorced, appears on the show once, while her mother has never appeared to this date. In one episode, she even owned her own clothing store.
Tipton often says that she has been to Europe, and she is always seen wearing faux fur coats or expensive clothing. She befriends other show characters, such as twins Zack and Cody (after whom the show was named), as well as the hotel's candy girl, fellow teenager Maddie Fitzpatrick.
Despite being pampered, London misses some things that other, non-rich teenagers have - a fact which was revealed during an episode in which she stayed over at Maddie's house. Among the things she misses are having her parents by her side and not being able to do things normal teenagers do, such as sleepovers. As a matter of a fact, she told Maddie that when she was at Maddie's house, it was her first ever sleepover. She is 6 months older than Maddie.
In the "Suite Smell of Exccess", the entire hotel was plunged into an alternate universe where London was suddenly smart, while Maddie Fitzpatrick was the air-headed heiress.
London has dated a numerous amount of men (not perfect, but at least rich and cute.) She often has her dates with Maddie (a double date) and the men she dated are always rich.
London's taste is dumb and rich, the perfect match to her, and most of them travel in from a different place. She does not care for the amount of smart in them, she only cares about the looks and how cute they'd look together. London has never had a stable relationship with a man. Basically, she has no perfect match, because all of them to her are way out her league. She does not think of the attitude, sense of humor, kindness and intellegence. All she cares about is looks and the amount of money, and whatever London doesn't want, she rubs off to Maddie. However, in the episode Cookin' With Romeo and Juliet London falls for the heir of the St. Mark hotel across the street from the Tipton. His name is Todd, and at first she only likes him for his looks and money, but later realizes that she is in fact in love with everything about him. Obviously the managers of both the Tipton and the St. Mark will not allow London and Todd's relationship to develope due to the fact that the two hotels are rivals. However London and Todd do whatever they can to see each other, proving that London has fallen in love. This has been the only case of "true love" that London has experienced.
London's family is not your everday family. Her family often fights. Her mother and father don't get along. At the family table, they do not communicate and London cannot handle herself properly on her own and her father has many ex-wives and girlfriends. None of the family was actually seen, but heard of. London relies and appeals to her father more than her mother.
London has no siblings but she has a stepsister named Yolanda (Yolanda is the daughter of a woman from one of Mr. Tipton's courtships.)
