The Liverpool Biennial is the UK's largest international festival of contemporary art.

In 2004 it caused controversy by deciding to exhibit a work by Yoko Ono Entitled "My mummy was beautiful. This work consisted of full colour photographs of a womans breast and crotch being exhibited throughout the City Centre.
