Linwood Boomer (b. October 9, 1956) is a Canadian-born television producer, writer, actor, and creator of the Fox television series Malcolm in the Middle (2000). He was the executive producer of the U.S. version of the 1992 Red Dwarf TV pilot. He was credited as Lindwood Dalton during his stint as Jared Markson (1984-1985) on The Young and the Restless. * Boomer is known amongst his friends as the king of the "booger joke," in which you place a booger on a co-worker/colleague in a clandestine manner.

Boomer first became well known to the American public in his role as Adam Kendall (1978-1981), the teacher turned husband of Mary Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie.

He started the series playing a blind teacher, but regains his sight later in the series and goes to law school.

Early years


Boomer was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, the second youngest of four children. His mother is Eileen. He was enrolled in a gifted program in school.

He is married to Tracy Katsky and is the father of Gideon, Nolan and, introducing The Boo as herself.
