Lilydale is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Its Local Government Area is the Shire of Yarra Ranges. The Mayor's office for the Shire is located within Lilydale. It is about 35 kilometres away from the Melbourne city centre. Lilydale represents the outermost limits of Melbourne's eastern suburbs, with the farms of the upper Yarra Valley extending to the east.

Lilydale is well known for Lillydale Lake, a recreational area where children play and learn about the wetlands environment. Surrounding the lake are modern housing estates.

Lilydale has its own franchise of McDonalds and KFC. Lilydale also has shopping centres named 'The Olive Tree' and 'The Lilydale Marketplace' as well as shops on both sides of Main Street. The Olinda Creek runs through Lilydale having its source in the nearby Dandenong Ranges and is a tributary of the Yarra River.

Their is a small airport in Yerring 3km north, as is a campus of Swinburne University. Lilydale has three main secondary schools: Lilydale High School, Mount Lilydale Mercy College and Lilydale Heights College. Many primary schools are in the suburb as well.

Lilydale is also the site of the Bible College of Victoria.
