The Party of the Liberal Front (Partido da Frente Liberal) is a political party in Brazil. At the last legislative elections, 6 october 2002, the party won 84 out of 513 seats in the Chamber of Deputies and 19 out of 81 seats in the Senate. It is considered to hold right-wing political and economic positions, though it is also generally regarded as a very "pragmatic" party, often engaging in political alliances with parties whose position on the political spectrum is diametrically opposed to the PFL's.
It was part of Fernando Henrique Cardoso's government coalition, and is currently one of the two main opposition parties to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's Workers' Party government (the other being the Brazilian Social Democracy Party).
