Level-5 is a third-party video game developer based in Chuo-ku, Fukuoka, and founded in October 1998. They're best known for the Dark Cloud video game series. They first announced their first game Dark Cloud in 1998 as a PSone game. Then in 1999, they announced that it was going to be a Playstation 2 game. Then they released it in Japan, 2000. In 2001, they released Dark Cloud everywhere else. In 2002, they released Dark Chronicle (called Dark Cloud 2 in North America). They released Dark Chronicle everywhere else in 2003. At E3 2004, Dark Cloud 3 was announced. There hasn't been any news ever since. It has been rumoured for a release date in December 31, 2006. In 2004, they helped Square-Enix (creators of the Final Fantasy series) make Journey of the Cursed King. It got released 2004 in Japan, 2005 in North America and 2006 in Europe. The next game is Rogue Galaxy which is due sometime in 2006.
