Leonard Susskind is a theoretical physics professor at Stanford University who is widely considered to be one of the most entertaining mavericks in the field of string theory.
He graduated with a B.S. in Physics in 1962, from the City College of New York, then went on to get his Ph.D. in 1965 from Cornell University.
Susskind is the author of a recent book "The Cosmic Landscape: String Theory and the Illusion of Intelligent Design". The book has received mixed reviews and has not sold as well as similar books by Brian Greene and Lisa Randall.
