Nl-Leiderdorp.ogg (population: 26,182 in 2004) is a town in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland near to the city of Leiden. It is one of the oldest villages in Zuid Holland province and the village core still exists one side of the A4 motorway. From 1960 the city begon to grow

The municipality covers an area of 12.16 km² (of which 0.57 km² is water). Leiderdorp has now become a suburb of the city of Leiden, although the Zijl river cuts between the two. The HSL-Zuid High-speed rail line is currently being built under Leiderdorp to carry French Thalys trains going between Amsterdam and Brussels.

In the past the city was a base for the spanish people in the 80 year war.
