Clarence Hilditch (June 2 1894 - ??), known as Lal Hilditch, was an English footballer, and is the only person ever to have been simultaneously a player and the manager at Manchester United.
Hilditch was born in Hartford, Cheshire, and began his playing career in 1919. In 1926, after John Chapman was suspended for unknown reason(s), Hilditch took over the manager's job for the rest of the year in addition to his playing duties.
During his United career, he scored 7 goals; he retired in 1932.
