Konsole is also the German spelling of console.

Konsole is a free terminal emulator for the KDE Desktop Environment. It is a complete rewrite, as opposed to many other terminal emulators that are derivatives of simplistic emulators such as xterm and rxvt.

Konsole supports a tabbed document interface, history, printing, and bookmarks. The KDE applications Konqueror, Kate, and KDevelop use Konsole as a KPart to embed its terminal functionality.
