Keokee is a census-designated place (CDP) in Lee County, Virginia, United States. As of the 2000 census, the CDP population was 316.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 11.2 km² (4.3 mi²), all land.
There are 128 households out of which 30.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.3% are married couples living together, 13.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.5% are non-families. 28.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.47 and the average family size is 3.02.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 25.3% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 27.8% from 25 to 44, 25.9% from 45 to 64, and 14.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 40 years. For every 100 females there are 109.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 101.7 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP is $22,875, and the median income for a family is $23,438. Males have a median income of $22,639 versus $23,229 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $11,025. 20.9% of the population and 19.4% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 27.1% of those under the age of 18 and none of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
