Kenwood, California is a town along State Route 12 in Sonoma County. The region is sometimes referred to as The Valley of the Moon. Elevations in the community generally run in the neighborhood of 400 to 440 feet above mean sea level. ZIP Codes for Kenwood are 95409 and 95452.

Located between Santa Rosa and Sonoma on SR12, Kenwood is quiet except for an occasional siren or general aviation aircraft overflight. West of town is the City of Santa Rosa senior citizens community of Oakmont for persons 55 years of age and older.

Under Mexican rule in the 1800s, the community was part of an Alta California land grant named Los Guilicos.

The Kenwood area is known for local wine industry, restaurants, and a European-style resort. An area landmark is the Kunde Estate Winery along SR12.
