Kazooie the Red Crested Breegull is one of the two title characters in the Rare Nintendo 64 game, Banjo-Kazooie. At the beginning of the first game, she resides in Banjo's backpack, in his home in Spiral Mountain. Most of the time, she remains inside, except in the sequel, Banjo-Tooie, where she can split with Banjo and go adventuring on her own.
Unlike Banjo, who is calm and mild-mannered, Kazooie is more impulsive. She tends to argue a lot with Bottles and Mumbo Jumbo very easily. She also tends to give a sarcastic commentary when some event develops. Once in Banjo Kazooie, one of Kazooie's insults to Bottles was "Jamjars". This was simply considered as another insult until Banjo Tooie when Bottles' cousin Jamjars appeared.
Kazooie's attacks consist mainly of the wide variety of eggs she can launch at enemies, though she can also use her strong beak to attack on occasion. One of the more useful abilities she's granted in Banjo Tooie is the ability to transform into a dragon if she and Banjo find and give Humba Wumba a Mega Glowbo, granting her increased strength in her attacks, as well as fire breath to replace her peck attack and an unlimited supply of Fire Eggs.
Eggs
Kazooie has several different types of eggs that she can use. They are picked up throughout the level and consist of the following types.
Blue eggs are the default egg type. She will first learn how to use these in Banjo Kazooie, and can also use them throughout Banjo Tooie. They are light blue.
Fire eggs are capable of setting various objects on fire and also luminating areas. They are red.
Battery eggs are eggs that are charged with electricity. They are only seen and used in Grunty's Revenge to power floating platforms by switches. They are black and look much like batteries. Ice eggs can freeze enemies and also activate certain switches. They are a dark gray color, much like ice.
Grenade eggs are eggs that are useful in blasting away walls and destroying bosses and enemies. They are a green plaid pattern, much like a grenade.
Clockwork eggs (aka Clockwork Kazooies) are eggs that, once shot, immediately break open revealing a small miniature Kazooie that will blow up at the press of the B button, as well as contact with an enemy and the 20 second timer running out. They are large and red with yellow spots.
Proximity eggs (aka Detonator eggs) are exclusive to the multiplayer shooter section(s),and are fired onto the floor and/or wall. They detonate when another egg or player comes in to contact with them. They are silver colored and resemble proximity mines.
Gold eggs (aka Rapid Fire eggs) are a rare type of egg. When you pick up a nest of them, You will have an unlimited amount of eggs for 60 seconds. They are a golden yellow color.
