Karyn Bryant is an actress, writer, and television personality who was raised in Boston, Massachusetts. She completed secondary school at Lawrence Academy at Groton, and received bachelor's degrees from Brown University in political science and sociology. Bryant's love of music led to her first television job in 1990, as an MTV VJ. She later hosted a short-lived music program on FX called Sound fX, in which her cohost was future Survivor host Jeff Probst. Her love of music sufaced again when she hosted Name That Video on VH1 in 2001. Bryant co-hosted Showbiz Tonight on CNN Headline News throughout 2005, but left after Time Warner decided to make a change. Previously, she guest-hosted CNN's Talkback Live and American Morning programs. After leaving Showbiz Tonight, ESPN had Bryant co-host their New Years Eve special live from Times Square, NYC. Currently, Bryant is a member of Showtime's Championship Boxing announce team, along with boxing veterans Steve Albert, Al Bernstein and Jim Gray (sportscaster). As an actress, Bryant has appeared in recurring roles on UPN's Malcolm and Eddie and The Sci-Fi Channel's Sliders.

Bryant lives in Los Angeles with her husband Wade and their two terriers, Marley and Maggie.
