Early Life


Jonathan "J.R." Rotem was born in South Africa to Jewish parents. From a young age he wanted to be a musician and started playing the piano at a very young age. Jonathan's parents quickly saw that he was talented and supported him in his dream of becoming a musician. He played classical music until junior high school when he became fascinated by Hip-Hop music.

He has produced tracks for artists and groups such as 50 Cent, Destiny's Child, Britney Spears, Snoop Dogg among others. He has also sold a beat to none other than Dr. Dre who is also a producer. He currently resides in Los Angeles where he creates most of his music.

He currently has 3 singles in heavy radio rotation including: "S.O.S. (Rescue Me)" by Rihanna (#1 on the Billboard Hot 100 as of May 4th, 2006), "Best Friend" by 50 Cent and "Whoa" by Lil' Kim. He also produced Kevin Federline's new song "America's Most Hated", and he is now producing a track for Paris Hilton for her debut album 'Paris'.
