John Bellamy Foster is an American journalist, essayist and Eco-socialist, as well as editor of the Monthly Review, a prominent socialist magazine. He has written widely on political economy and has established a reputation as an environmental sociologist and Eco-socialist.

He holds the position of Professor of Sociology at the University of Oregon in Eugene.
