According to Pausanias, Italos(Italus) was a king of Italy, descendant of the Arcadian Oenotrus. Oenotrus had settled in what is now called Italy because he was not satisfied with the land given to him by his father Lycaon). According to Gaius Julius Hyginus, Ulysses was the grand father of Italos.

According to Thucydides, Italos was a king of Sicily.

We also know that Italos conquered Calabria around 1650 BC.
