The Isthmian League Division One South is a football division of the Isthmian League in England. It runs in parallel to the Isthmian League Division One North and its champions are promoted to the Isthmian League Premier Division.

History

The Isthmian League First Division South (note the slightly different title) existed for two seasons from 2003-03 till 2003-04. It is being resurrected for the 2006-07 season.

The division was formed from a merger of the Isthmian League First Division and the Isthmian League Second Division at the end of the 2001-02 season. The idea was to reduce travel distance for teams in the Isthmian league.

However, the creation of the Conference South reduced the number of teams in the Isthmian League, meaning only one First Division was necessary. The F.A., however, decided that there should be 6, rather than 4, 'step four' divsions of the National League System, again to reduce travel costs. As a result, the First Division South (as Division One South) was reformed for the 2006-07 season, taking teams from the various leagues below it.
