In Maryland, Interstate 95 runs diagonally from the border with Delaware, in the northeastern part of the state, to the Woodrow Wilson Bridge before entering Virginia. The route is one of the most heavily traveled Interstate highways in Maryland, especially between Baltimore and Washington, despite alternate routes along the corridor such as the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.
